Ambro timbers of the world.

SAVE-WOOD

‘SaveWood’ evolved from ‘StaybleWood’ developed by Peter Canala some 20+ years ago, and was created with 2 factors in mind.

  1. To do our bit in saving the world’s timber forests by using timber respectfully and where possible substituting new timber for old, this vision aligns with responsible Governments around the world. To stabilise what is inherently a living thing.

  2. Solid timber will naturally expand and contract relative to atmospheric conditions, our technology gives timber an inert quality that relieves the tensions within the material.

The ‘SaveWood’ process takes lamellas of timber (approximately 4mm in thickness), cut using thin kerf cutting technology is carefully dried, graded then bonded to wood, or other types of stable substrates, as tough and durable as traditional solid timber.

Many applications for timber require a method of construction to allow the product to be stable. Generally these construction methods include traditional aesthetics such as outer frames and clunky beadings. ‘SaveWood’ allows contemporary slab construction for all applications whether for internal or external use.

Many thousands of development hours have gone into the products, finishes and technologies to create what is now a selection of well refined and reliable products.
