HISTORY

Ambro was established in Adelaide in 1981, by the well respected, experienced and talented craftsman Peter Canala. Under his guidance it quickly became a trusted name in the delivery of high quality, bespoke timber supply and manufacturing solutions. Two such products ‘StaybleWood’, a stable timber substrate made from natural timbers and ‘Luminate’ a material incorporating timber and resin laminations to create high end decorative panels and bespoke doors. Their products, whether high end joinery fitouts, doors or flooring products are still recognised and coveted today.

In August of 2021 Peter joined forces with equally experienced and talented individuals in aligned industries, Pat Furina and Liviyio Roncevic, to found the company Ambro SA.

EXPERIENCE AND EXPERTISE

The company directors have over 100 years experience in the building Industry collectively, each having run their own successful private enterprises. Highly skilled in the understanding, the acquisition and the manipulation of timber, whether old or new. The projects they have completed are varied, spanning from complex, small scale intricate pieces, to large volume joinery projects and kilometres of beautiful timber flooring.

Their understanding of timber, it’s behaviour and their respect for the natural resource, has made them the go-to-experts in the field of timber, it’s use and preservation.

This coupled with their business acumen and their understanding of the local and international building and manufacturing sectors, means they can tailor innovative timber products to suit a variety of markets.

INTRODUCTION TO THE PRODUCTS

Ambro specialises in the fabrication of sustainable, unique and beautiful timber products. Utilising their ‘StaybleWood’ technology ‘VinWood’, ‘ReWood’ and ‘NewWood’ engineered timber products are incorporated into their projects. Ambro’s products are commonly formed using solid timber layers bonded to a stable core material multiplying the life of recycled or new natural timber. They now refer to the product as ‘SaveWood’.
