ReWood

Ambro ReWood reclaimed timber

Ambro’s network of contacts notify them of discarded and reclaimed timber from various locations. Australian and overseas species are collected, reconditioned and revitalised ready for use.

‘ReWood’ has been created using reclaimed timber from the building industry, recycled to create a range of timber products.

FUNDAMENTALS

  • The timber is rescued from ruins and discarded buildings within Australia.

  • It is estimated that 35,000 linear meters of timber has been rescued so far.

  • Timber is carefully stacked and air dried until the moisture content is suitable for production and to be in service.

  • Timber is cut into Lamellas using a thin kerf cutting machine and bonded to ‘SaveWood’ material.

  • ‘ReWood’ is as durable as solid timber, but uses only 3-4mm of solid timber per piece, far surpassing the durability of veneer.

  • Reclaiming a discarded timber product from the building and construction industry, giving it a new life, look and purpose.

  • Various finishes have been developed allowing the natural timber characteristics to shine.

  • Construction and past use imprints can be highlighted if requested.

  • A fully refined, sanded, flush and filled smooth finish can also be created.
